Ajrakh
The intricate and solely handmade block-printing method was introduced to Kutch from Sindh approximately 400 years ago by the request of the King of Kutch. Ajrakh Block Printing stands out due to its exceptional historical origins and the distinctive process involved in its production.
Ajrakh's components are entirely sourced from nature, including herbs, vegetable extracts, and natural minerals. Among the commonly used ingredients are wild indigo, pomegranate bark and seeds, and harde. Additionally, the region's abundant supply of camel dung is utilized as a component for removing starch from the fabric.
